The living room area of the homeowner's bungalow lacked
the warm details that are found in the rest of the house.
The client requested to add a gas fireplace with built in
storage and to open up the room to the entrance foyer.
We custom designed an oak fireplace mantel along with
custom-built lighted cabinets on both sides for the homeowners
to highlight their collections. The hand made tile selected
for the fireplace surround is true to the style of the home.
The existing windows were reframed to match the new mantel.
New owner selected antique leaded glass windows were also
installed. The original painted crown molding was replaced
to give the room a finished look.
We also opened up the living room by creating a new
larger opening to the foyer and installing new true divided
light French doors. The relocation of an existing foyer
closet and new tile has completed the transformation of
this 1920's bungalow.
The room is now a warm and inviting gathering space
for the family. Because of the seamless design, all of these
additions look like they are original to the house.
